SINOPSE BIOGRÁFICA

Luís Tinoco [n.1969, Lisboa] formou-se em Composição na Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. Mais tarde, no Reino Unido, fez um Mestrado em Composição na Royal Academy of Music e doutorou-se pela Universidade de York. Combina a sua actividade de compositor com o ensino, exercendo funções docentes na Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. Enquanto programador e divulgador musical, destaca-se a sua colaboração com a Antena 2 da RTP como autor e produtor de programas radiofónicos e como director artístico do Prémio e Festival Jovens Músicos. As suas composições abrangem musica de câmara, sinfónica, bailado e música de cena, incluindo “Evil Machines” – uma fantasia musical com libreto e encenação do ex-Monty Python Terry Jones; e “Paint Me” – uma ópera de câmara com libreto de Stephen Plaice e encenação de Rui Horta. Trabalhos orquestrais incluem colaborações com a Orquestra Filarmónica da Radio France; Orquestra Sinfónica de Seattle; Orquestra Sinfónica Brasileira; Orquestra Sinfónica Estadual de São Paulo (OSESP); Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; e as principais orquestras nacionais – Gulbenkian; Sinfónica Portuguesa; Porto Casa da Música; e Metropolitana de Lisboa, entre outras. De 2016 a 2018 desempenhou o cargo de Compositor Residente no Teatro Nacional de São Carlos e, na temporada de 2017, foi Artista Associado da Casa da Música. Desde 2016 é Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) e em 2019 foi distinguido com o Prémio DSCH – Shostakovich Ensemble para Compositores. A sua música é publicada pela University of York Music Press e está disponível em CD monográficos nas etiquetas Odradek, Naxos, e Lorelt.
