Bruno Pereira

Born in Vila Nova de Gaia, Bruno Pereira started his musical studies with the age of eight at the Vilar do Paraíso's Music Academy .

He has a bachelor degree in Singing by the Gaia's Superior Music Conservatorium in the Fernanda Correia's class. Later on he finished his superior degree at Porto's Superior School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE) with José de Oliveira Lopes. He has participated in Masterclasses with Laura Sarti, Elsa Saque, Charles Spencer, Mara Zampieri, Patricia MacMahon, Manuel Cid and António Salgado. He often works, in England, with Susan McCulloch.

As soloist he sang the bass role from Handel's Messiah; Mozart's Requiem, Coronation Mass and several Brevis Masses; Cantata nº4 and the 3 rd and 6 th Cantatas from Bach's Christmas Oratorio; Charpentier's Te Deum and Donizetti and Fauré's Requiem. In Opera he debut was with Sarastro ( The Magic Flute - Mozart). He sang also D.Alfonso in Così fan tutte, Bartolo from Le Nozze di Figaro, Colas from Bastien und Bastienne and Buff in Der Schauspieldirektor, all by Mozart. He sang also other operatic roles such as: Rocco from Beethoven's Fidelio, Noye from Britten's Noye's flude; Balthazar from the opera Amahl and the night visitors composed by Menotti; Jimmy from Mahagonny Songspiel and Mother from the Seven deadly sins, both from Kurt Weil; Fiorello and Basilio in the Rossini's Barber of Seville; Dead João Espergueiro on the opera João Espergueiro 's première of the Portuguese composer Eduardo Patriarca and also the première of A Island on the moon by Joaquim Pavão. He worked with conductors such as Mário Mateus, Manuel Ivo Cruz, Cesário Costa, Roberto Perez, António Saiote, Niksa Bareza, Ferreira Lobo, Félix Carrasco, Pedro Amaral among others. He worked also with orchestras such as Orquestra do Norte, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra ARTAVE, Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Orquestra Clássica de Espinho, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa.

He has also a degree in Production and Music Technologies at ESMAE and he's post-graduated in Cultural Management.
